Useful sites and services

The Yoga Hall on Hatfield Rd in St Albans: From ante- and post-natal yoga to baby massage and baby yoga, a brilliant place to get rid of the tensions of the day, exercise and of course meet other mums. Each session finishes with herbal tea and cakes, what more can you ask for?

MishMash Music: In terms of music classes, St Albans tots are spoilt for choice. This one is really good, a very relaxed and friendly environment, the children get plenty of opportunities to play the instruments and they love the songs! Ruth is very talented and plays live music during the session, and for the mums it is a refreshing change from Old MacDonalds and Baabaa black sheep.

Kirky's Cakes: Delicious home-made cakes for birthday parties or other children events, the kind you would make yourself if you were a domestic goddess and didn't have a million other things to organise! Kirky also offers party packages and cake tin hire.

St Albans Blog: A really useful blog with tons of reviews of local life, including shopping, eating and drinking. This author has young children which helps when it comes to finding child-friendly restaurants and events.

Toddlers Day Out: Natalie Lacon has put together a brilliant site with plenty of info on things to do in St Albans and around with young children. This includes listing of playgroups, restaurants and cafes, local events and businesses aimed at parents.

UK parents lounge: Advice, information, friendship for parents and parents-to-be.
