Your photo session
Once you decide you would like to have photographs taken we will have a chat on the phone to discuss your specific requirements and ideas.
The photo shoot will take place in your home or if the weather is nice in your garden or local playground (for children photography). The light is one of the most important factors for successful photographs. Conservatories in particular are well suited for colourful photos of children. For black and white pregnancy photos, a bedroom with access to a window is perfect. Black and white pictures of newborn can be taken in any room that is bright enough. The photo shoot itself takes between 45 minutes and 2 hours (depending on the number of children, their age and their mood on the day!) and is very relaxed and informal. As a mum I know that children can't just be told to sit still and smile for the camera so I will do my best to make the photo shoot a fun experience for them too.
Just a couple of days after the after shooting the photos (and with your permission) I will post a sneak preview with a handful of my favourite shots on my blog, which you are welcome to share with friends and family members. Within 2 weeks I will send you a link to your own personal page on my website for you to review the photos and pick the ones you would like to order. I offer a whole range of services, from digital files on CD to your photo printed on canvas. For prices please have a look at my price list. If necessary I can make minor cosmetic modifications to the final pictures such as removing scratches, the odd spot or stretch mark.
I am based in St Albans, Hertfordshire and will travel within a 10 miles radius. If you live further afield why not organise a day out in St Albans and come and feed the ducks in Verulamium Park? This can be a really nice backdrop for a photo shoot. I am available during the week and at weekends so I am happy to go with whatever day and time is most suitable for you.
