Oliver contacted me just before Christmas to buy a gift certificate for a family photo session as a Christmas present to his wife Jennifer. I finally had the pleasure to meet their family earlier this week in their beautiful Harpenden home.

Their daughter Scarlett is 2 years old, and as most little people her age, she is very very busy! Jennifer had mentioned to me that she would prefer more natural shots of the children so I went for a “lifestyle” approach for this shoot and simply followed Scarlett around as she played, chatted and pottered in the garden. She is such a pretty little girl with a great personality and I wanted to make sure that I captured images that reflect this.

Baby Zac, with a head full of hair, was happy to smile and pose for me and I am delighted with the moments I captured with his mum.

I did get some shots of the children together, mainly by telling Scarlett that hugging and kissing was strictly forbidden, sometimes a bit of reverse psychology does the trick!

This one just made me smile, setting up some story time with Daddy didn’t quite work out at first, but we got there in the end!
