As part of the St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink Festival, food writer Ren Behan and myself have put together our skills to create an exciting photography workshop. This workshop is a great taster of both street and food photography: we will be meeting at Thompson@Darcy’s for an short introduction to street photography including tips on how best to capture the life of the market. You will also be given a brief to bring back interesting and photogenic produce, with a view to photographing them with a selection of props.
We will then go out and capture street scenes at the St Albans Market under my guidance, purchase lovely produce and bringing it back to our base location. Using natural light, Ren and I will help you create beautiful images of food, with tips on how to play with the light, composition and available props to produce mouth watering shots.
There are no pre-requisites for this class, all photography levels are welcome. In terms of equipment, you will need to bring your own camera (ideally an SLR or bridge camera but compact cameras can also be used).
