Description

This course is specifically designed for teenagers (13-17) and is suitable for the Skills Section of the DofE Award (Duke of Edinburgh Award) as it covers a period of 3 months.

We cover both technical and artistic aspects of photography, so the course is also really useful for those doing Art or Photography GCSE or A-level.

There will be 3 meet-ups with regular bite-size assignments and feedback in between meet-ups.

Meet-up 1: Kick off session at 54 Hazelmere Rd, St Albans AL4 9RN
Tuesday 10th September 2024 4:30pm-6:30pm

Meet-up 2: Photography walk in Verulamium Park (Meet at the St Albans Museum and Gallery at 4:30pm)
Tuesday 15th October 2024 4:30pm-6:30pm

Meet up 3: Wrap-up session at 54 Hazelmere Rd, St Albans AL4 9RN
Tuesday 10th December 2024 4:30pm-6:30pm

What we will be covering:
Camera settings such as Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed, White Balance
Understanding light to create the desired mood in your photography
Composition skills

Camera requirements:
DSLR cameras with interchangeable lenses (Canon/Nikon) are preferred to get the full range of functionality but any camera that can be operated in Manual or Semi Manual mode is also suitable (it should have a dial similar to the one shown below). Please contact me with your camera make/model if you’re not sure.
